I have been fascinated by glass since I was a child, by the infinite options of hot glass, by the colored light it creates, by its strength and its fragility. I began working with leaded glass and progressed to etched and fused glass. Many of my pieces reflect geographic forms. I am always struck by the innate balance and harmony found in nature and since my earliest airplane flights, those forms have found their way into my art. Recently I have been creating jewelry, combining fused glass, lampworked beads, and semi-precious stones with precious metal wire to create one of a kind wearable art. While it’s exhilarating to create a new piece just for the joy of creating, I love the challenge that comes with commission pieces. When I can develop a design that pleases the client and satisfies my own design sense I am truly happy. I began accepting commissions in 1980. From 1985 to 2015 I owned and operated Tapestry Glass, a gallery/studio located in Reno. Since 2015 I operate from my home studios as Hallamore Designs.
