I started my career as a professional artist in 1962 as a staff artist for the Riverside Press-Enterprise newspaper in Riverside, California. I worked as a commercial artist for newspapers and art agencies for 12 years. During that time I also worked as a fine artist, painting in oil. I painted commissions for many years and I continue to paint commissions.
I switched to Acrylic paint in the 1970s because they dried faster than oils. People wanting commissions are impatient. I also do pen and ink, graphite, colored pencil, watercolor, and combinations of all those mediums. I do sculpture in polymer, and have sculpted a trophy for the winner of the “Best Conditioned Horse” at the Virginia City 100 Mile Endurance Ride for 27 years. I have lived in Nevada since 1974.
My working studio is in a horse barn in Washoe Valley.
My gallery is in the Nevada Marketplace in the Reno Town Mall. The name is “Sagebrushes Studio” and it is open seven days a week. The address is 4001 S. Virginia St., Reno, Nevada. Phone 775-443-8558.
